Is this normal Molly behavior?

I've got some mollies in a tank with sand substrate and they keep taking in mouthfuls of sand and spitting it out. Also, every time I put my hands in the tank they come over and start chewing on me. Are they showing affection or are they trying to eat me?

Its normal behaviour and yes they are trying to eat you

sounds normal too me, my mollies are always the first up in the tank when it comes to feeding time, and when ive put all the food in inlcuding the catfish pellet, they are always trying to eat that as well and 9/10 will spit it back out

Yeah, mollies turned out to be pretty fun fish even though I got them as (hate to say it) brackish water cyclers . Now I know better.

Mollies are the best - they are a wonderful fish to raise and are very bold!

Yeah my guppies(especially their 150 kids ) love nibbling on me and my arm hair. It tickles sooo much! But they mostly do out of curiosity. But since they don't have piranah teeth, i don't worry about it, lol.

I love my Mollies - I just recently added 1 female and 1 male to my 1 female (now have 2f/1m) and I can't wait to have babies. If I would have known then what I know now, I'd probably have a 30-gal full of assorted Mollies. They're great!!
