I got a betta fish from my friend who works at a pet store for my birthday, along with the fish she got freeze dried bloodworms to feed him. I did as she instructed me and feed and and then cleaned up, but she really didnt explain to how they eat and stuff. MY fish eat the bloodworms and then spits out the case and it falls to the bottom. My friend say that I can leave all the cases and excess on the bottom of the tank. I'm just looking for someone to clear if that is true or not because if it isnt I going to have to try another type of food.

never leave food in the bottom of the tank, it rots and messes up the water.
freeze dried bloodworms should be fed as a treat, not a regular meal, it offers the betta very little nutrition. get some pellet food and frozen food as well as that, they like and need variety. and a mashed pea a week helps too.
