I’m getting my tank on Saturday and I have ordered lots of plants for it so I can do an aqua scape. I was looking at making a diy co2. But how do I make sure that I’m not adding to much co2 to the tank ?

I use this method. Now the one downside was that I couldn't regulate the C02 output from the bottle even at night, but I have my internal filter outflow pointed to the water surface to help with gas exchange. I've never had any problems and have been using this method for over 2 years now. But there are other options with actual ways to regulate C02.

I used to have this, and it was good but had to keep buying refill canisters.

If you're willing to spend a bit more money I'd definitely recommend these.
