I havn't put any fish in my tank yet and its been up for 2 days, the water is very cloudy, can anyone tell me why this is happening and how do i get rid of it? or will it go when i add plants and fish?

The cloudy water is a bacterial bloom. This is quite normal in a newly set up tank. It will take around a month before the water in the tank is ready for fish and if you havent already got test kits for Ammonia, Nitrate and Nitrite I suggest you get some. When the Ammonia and Nitrite equal 0 and the Nitrate is around the 10 mark..then it will be ok to add fish.

You can speed this up dramatically by either using some water from another established aquarium or using an established filter or by buying a product called Bio-Spira (only ever seen it in the states though).
the first two are probably the ebst options for you.
If you have a 20g tanks then by swapping 10g of your water for 10g of established tank water you will really get the tank set up quickly
