OK....I now have my DIY Carbon Dioxide going, happily producing bubbles which are going into my tank....

Now, ATM, the bubbles are going into the tank at approx. 1.6 bubbles per second.....or 96 per minute....is this a good rate? Do I need to slow it down or speed it up?

I am VERY new to this....

Thanks in advance

if your light is medium to high / 2-4wpg its ok..

just keep a eye on the PH if it drop to much you might be over fertilizing with CO2

but with a DIY setup, I cant see that happening. I think your is just fine

What type of diffuser are you using or are you going straight into your filter inlet (if so, how do you count your bubbles)?

The only way to tell if there's enough or too much CO2 is to measure your pH and KH and read the CO2 off a pH/KH/CO2 table.

My local plant 'specialist' gave me a good guide that has come good...

Volume of water (in Litres) x KH (in degrees) / 50

so our 200L with a KH of 9 = 36 bubbles per minuite.

Now that we have near 100% desolving we have a PH of 7.0 and a co2 content of about 28mg :)

My KH is 1. My tank is a 33 gallon. So that means I'd need (125 x 1)/50? 2 bubbles a minute? That seems pretty little... My ph is 6.2, if that's of any help...

My KH is 1 also and I am afraid to add CO2. I bought the system and put it in but after 3 days, I was getting about 12-15 bubbles per minute. I disconnected it for fear of crashing my pH. I really need something to control my BGA problem though. My current parameters are: Ammoina, Nitrite = 0, Nitrate = 7.5, pH = 6.6, KH = 1, Phosphate = .1ppm.
