I have 5 gallon buckets for water changes, but a lot of times I only want to change about 2.5 gallons. I'm thinking I would just fill the bucket up about half way, but since I wouldn't have an exact measurement of how much water is in there, I'm worried about adding too much chemical. So, can you over-dechlorinate?

Hi Lenina...dechlorinator is pretty safe, but, anything in excess could be toxic. But...benefits out weigh the risks, ie, chlorine and chloramine can't go in the tank untreated. Measure out the amount as best you can and follow the directions on the bottle. Most treatments are either one drop per gallon or one teaspoon per 10 gallons. SH
