Thanks Sanket, this is some information I can understand, lol! I will get an air pump today and will also try the hydrogen peroxide. I don't care about the plants as they are all nearly done for anyway, but is it safe for the fish or should I remove them first?
Thanks to everyone else for your input too :good:

Low flow around the areas it one school of thought, an air pump will give water movement at the top of the tank, not around the bottom where you'll need the flow. Using H202 will work short term, but it will come back if you don't correct the original problem.

The tank has really good flow, it keeps the sand spotless so I'm assuming bottom flow is not the problem. I'm going to go with oxy levels first off and try to correct that before trying the H202. Does it matter what strength it is? I bought 3%.
