I currently have 23 fish in my tank with plenty of space to spare as I've gone for tiny fish (tetras and the likes) but I am wanting to top this off by adding 2 glass catfish (Kryptopterus minor) but have been told to keep them in a group of 5 or more specimens otherwise they get shy and eventually die prematurely I'm just wondering if they'll suffer as they do if they're in the tank with my 2 albino cats?

actually your tank is perfect for the 1" per gallon rule.

all your fish are small and slim bodied.

going by that your actually slightly overstocked but thats not so bad if you keep up with maintenance.

i wouldnt add anymore tho and you could do with ID'ing the plec cos some (most common sold) grow to 18"-24" and they do it pretty quick.

I'm not an expert but that seems pretty well stocked already.
If you do want glass cat fish 'they say' you need to have some current in the tank, i.e., a fair bit of water movement from the filter. I have three and they seem happy hanging out in that small group but they do spend most of their time face on to the water flow from an external filter.
