Betta fungus/fin rot?

Hi everyone! I am new with this. I bought a betta a few weeks ago. In the beginning of this week I noticed that the fin on the bottom of the betta was starting to disapear somehow, and it wasn't as big as it should be. Then I noticed that there was this fungus stuff on his tail and fin. Is it common for bettas to get fin rot and fungus? I greatly appreciate anyone's help. Oh, my betta died today. Thank you!

sorry about your betta. yes it probably was fin rot. If you are going to get another see if you can find some bettafix and just keep it around in case this type of thing happens again.

Stay on top of your water changes,at least twice weekly depending on tank size of course. It should heal up quickly with clean water, maybe a tiny pinch of salt diluted in his clean water.
