I have a 10 gallon tank I'm cycling right now and I'm getting a betta in a couple of weeks. But I don't want him to be alone, so I'm going to get a very small shoal. I'm not sure if Bloodfin Tetras or White Clouds would work better, or if they could perhaps work together in two small groups. So I've come to you to ask what you believe would be the best option!

I would suggest 6-8 harlequin rasboras or 10-12 chili rasboras. White clouds are cool water fish, and though they will live at tropical temps, they won't live their full lifespan. The bloodfins get to large for a 10gal really and might be a little nippy.

To add to the factors against WCMMs is that they live in fast moving mountain streams, and much like zebra danios, like a bit more room than a 10gallon would provide.

I agree with the good rev about chilli rasbora, although my personal opinion is that 10-12 would be a bit too many for a 10G, I'd suggest only 8. Another alternative would be 6 Celestial Pearl Danios.
