I had an outbreak of Algae a few weeks ago

I added a Hydor Koralia powerhead to improve the flow and have started doing water changes 3 hours before the lights come on

The plants are now clean and i am not getting hardly any Algae appear on the glass now

The problem is the Algae is not disappearing off my bogwood

Will removing it and letting it dry out help removing it?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

I'd take it out, spray a bit of flourish excel mixed with water on it 1:20 ratio and rinse off after about 5mins, put back in tank and after few days it will change colour and die.

Thanks Ps3Stevio i will have to invest in some flourish excel and dose the bogwood

if its not excessive i would just leave it....algae is a natural filter and good for your tank, as long as its not excessive

It also out competes plants for nutrients so its not so good.

I just take mine out and run it under a tap whilst giving it a scrub with a toothbrush - comes up like a new penny !
