ADF playing dead

Ok so last night i woke in the night as we had huge storm and the power went off. Went to look in my tank to see if my fish were ok and my ADF was floating by the filter, so i thought oh no hes dead because he wasnt moving and his eyes had turned completely black. Woke up this morning to find him happily swimming round the tank as normal. Does anyone know why he did this or do i just have a weird ADF

Actually, that's not uncommon for adf's. It seems like one of their hobbies is thinking up weird yoga positions to float around in so that their owners think they are dead. Floating around at the time just means that they are feeling extra lazy--they don't have to go very far to get a breath of air.

I have 2 ADF's and they both do that. They will stand up on their back legs and fall backwards, or lay in odd positions, etc. I did some research on it, and it is called the 'zen' mode and it is what they do when they relax. I, personally, think ADF's have inherited narcolepsy.
