I keep seeing the lab cichlids at the store and am dying to get a few - but I don't feel like investing the time and money into setting up another tank specifically for them.

Would they go well in my current setup (see sig) or would they cause problems?

 try and get a small tank.

do you have one that has already been used?

Don't put Labs in your tank!!! They will tear the other fish apart. If you like them though it would be well worth getting a new tank to put them in, that's what I did!! Malawi Cichlids are really gorgeous fish.

Yeah well the problem with getting another tank is that I'd get a 20... think it's too small... get a 30... think it's too small...etc etc...

Just like with my current tropical tank lol

-_- . Bad advice, i am sorry!

Labs grow to 5" each, are an aggressive cichlid from Lake Malawi (albeit not one of the more aggressive) and prefer to be kept in groups.

In truth they should be kept only with other Malawi species in a tank no less than 55 gallons.

Totally agree with thebaldranger, don't add labs to your community tank. They need to be kept either with their own kind or other Mbuna. However you could keep yellow labs only in a 30 or 40 gal quite comfortably.
