Iā€™m now 7 weeks in to a fish in cycle of a 55 gallon non planted community tank. I have been doing 25% water changes and treating with prime and stability after each change. My numbers are good but Iā€™m still not seeing any nitrates as I would like to start adding some more fish. Today I woke up and the tank is noticeably cloudy. Am I doing something wrong? Anything I should change or start doing?

Probably a bacterial bloom, which is a good thing...what kind of test kit are you using?

The API freshwater master kit. What should I do to clear up the water? Or do I just let it run itā€™s course

Let it be, monitor params, WC's as necessary...adhere to the instructions for fish-in cycle

Do you have many plants in the tank? They can lessen cycling time if you have enough of them. What is your stocking?

Is 7 weeks too long to be waiting for a tank to be cycled?
