I cleaned and replaced most filter media today I also have been using Chemi-pure a filter media, and just read on the back it removes co2, have you heard of this product and should I stop using it? Also my Java moss seems to be turning brown will it survive? I use Excell, flourish iron, Flourish plant tabs and flourish comprehensive supplement. I have a 45 gallon with 1 compact 55 watt bulb and one compact 65 6,700k lights. A yeast bottle for Co2 10 cherry barbs, 1 red tail shark 2 bristle nose plecos and 6 ottos, 1 do weekly 25% water changes. If you need to know more just ask.
Thanks for the help!

If it removes co2 then stop using it, i have never heard of it to comment on it though. You moss may just have algae, trying rubbing it and see if it comes off.

Sounds like it'll also remove N and P, which if it does, is even more reason not to use it! P and N are vital for good plant growth.

Well that really sucks! I've been buying and using that stuff for ever and never thought it would be bad. I guess I'll have to pull it out of the filter!, and the carbon too from what I've read. Thanks so much!

You don't need anything more than sponge in a planted tank filter, anything else is pointless as far as I am concerned.
