here are the names of some of my fish and why i chose them.....please feel free to tell me yours, i think there could be some very funny ones!!!!

'fergal' a silver distichodus is so named as when he was younger he looked a bit like a shark so we named him after 'legendary' 80's singer Fergal Sharkey! (that singer will of course only be known by people...ahem....of a certain age!) :/

we have a bristle nose plec called.......erm.....Bristle!

'Coco' is a choc gourami!

a black skirt tetra called 'Grim Reaper'(or just reaper for short) as there used to be about 6 of them but 1 by 1 they started dying for no apparent reason - it was as if he just had to look at them and they died!

2 clown loaches, 1 called 'Woody' cos he lives under the bogwood and 1 called 'Scrooge' cos he's quite grumpy!

but my best names i think were 2 sleeper gobies i had a few years ago. 1 of them became 'disabled'! he got a kink in his body and couldn't swim so the only name that fitted him best was.........Ironside!! (which became Iron for short). so then what to call the other one???......only one name for it..........Non-Iron!!!!!

can't wait to hear some other members inspired names!!!

One of my albino bronze corrys is named Snap Draggon, or Snappy for short. Her eyes and body are kinda pinkish like a pink snap dragon. My other albino is named tulip for the same reason.
My older bronze corry is named Greeny because he's grean. Oh yes I know incredubly creative. I like it though, it seams to fit him. My other bronze is named Samuell, but I call him Sammy. He is named after a person I geatly admire.
I also have two golden sunset gouramis, but they don't have names. They have been acting ill ever since I got them, I don't want to name them because I don't want to ge too attached incase they die soon.

Only named fish I have is my common pleco, Ninja. Named him that because he's big, dark, and he sneaks around the aquarium all the time.

I wasnt very creative with my names. My four bloodfin tetras look so similar, i never named them, I just call them the shark patrol because they cruise my plants looking for frye snacks. I've spent many a night trying to catch frye before they do. The shark patrol usually wins.

My original fantail guppy that I've had for three years, the one that never gets sick, the only one to survive my 5 gallon tank and the first one in my 50 gallon tank, I call Trooper.

Oh and my new male swordtail got dubbed Randy. I won't elaborate.

I got some feeder guppies because I liked their colors and the one left I call "Little Guy". He follows Trooper around like a puppy.

I just call my balloon mollies by their colors, Silver, Blackie, Goldie, Dalmation, and Spot.

Oh and the platy that has babies when she barely even looks pregnant, I just call Sneaky. I watch for her to get round or for the spot to get darker and then poof, there are babies in the plants. Sneaky goes nuts in the breeder net and she never looks ready to blow so I just compete with the shark patrol for the frye.

I've named my male orange platy Daddy
my female orange platy Nora
my speckled platy (not sure if its male or female, so i made it a male :p) Pete
my smaller danio Zimmy
and my bigger danio Zoltan

I used to have a blue beta named Vanelli
and a sucker loach named Gunther

I loved gunter RIP!

With two young children not naming the fish is out of the question.

RTBS------Bullit after the Steve Mcqueen movie
Juli Cory Cat-----Vitor Meira race car driver.
Albino Cory Cat----Teo Fabi race car driver.
Zebra Danios----Warrick & Grissom after characters from the original CSI.
Lemon Tetra---Link Wray 60's intrumental guitarist
Tiger Barb---Tuesday because my son wanted to wait until "tomorrow" to name him just happened to be a Monday.
Dalmation & Black Molly---Tom & Jerry obvious reasons.

Deceased fish.......Ace Frehley the neon tetra, Willie Nelson the red eyed tetra, Nemo the guppy, Nemo II the replacement guppy & Grover the guppy.

Jasper - From a book.
Big Red - He's a red betta, duuuh.
Taz - He was spazzy.
Kari - A male fish, I thought he was a girl at first.

The clown fish
The six line wrasse
The watchman goby

I'll let you guess how i came up with them :p

Gosh names you say, used to have a bristlenose called Michael and 2 corys called Fabio and Grooverider
I can't remember what I called the others, have probably named a fair few over the last 7-8 years

I only name my bettas now but tbh I have so many I can't be bothered to remember all their names now

I have HMPK males Romeo and Shyam, pink butterfly Shiko, Copper SD is Chief, Gold HM is Jerico, the others are being sold so no point listing their names here.

I can never see the point naming fish who all look the same though lol

I don't name my corys, or my plecos...there's too many of them. :)

The three Banjo cats are named...the Three Fates.
My Rams don't have names yet, since I just found out...I was sold 2 males, I wanted a mating pair...So, I'll be buying two more. LMAO I'm thinking Aristotle and Socrates for the males with the females to be named Diana and Daphne, once I find them.

My Convict pair is Bonnie and Clyde. I did that after they killed the other breeding pair in the tank.
My Betta is Leonidas, of Spartan King fame. I'm a Greek nut, as you'll soon notice.
Odysseusis my Oscar.
Plato is my Common Pleco.

My girlfriend has named a lot of her bettas, but they're names...I can't remember. LOL

I have never named a fish in my life... not sure why. I am still attached to them but they never get a name. Even my cockatiel I just called "bird".

call my common plec 'pepper'. brother and sister were coming out with all sorts off stuff - stoney, spot... but pepper was the best and quite a good one
