I've imagined that many times over. But I don't think my imagination can even digest how absolutely horrible that would be.

Its not actually that expensive to replace a panel of glass on a fish tank as far as i'm aware, even in the tanks state as it currently is, its still a bargain in many respects.

If it was in my area, then I would happily buy it. My father is in the glass business so he would get a proper sheet of glass for the front for free, and he would get it silicon-ed and re-done, too bad that it is in the UK.

Exactly, if someone had the space for it, then a panel of glass for it is hardly going to burst the bank? And considering the money you will save anyway, I think its pretty good value.

I know from experience that its a heck of a mess...

Had a filter hose get nibbled by a puppy once...

200 gallons later.. it was done sucking 2/3's of the tank out...

I had to tear out the carpet in 2 rooms, and replace a good chunk of drywall. Thank god my house is on a cement slab.
