Hi,

I am going on vacation for 6 days..And i have no one to feed them.Read my signature and tell me will those fishes be HEALTHY after i come back?

virtually all tropical fish will be just fine for a week with no food. small fry or large predators may need feeding but aside from that generally your OK.

You have to remember that in the wild most fish live on the brink of starvation most of the time, they're designed to cope with it. Resist the temptation to do a major feed before you go, this will just produce lots of waste and could muck up your water quality while your not there to look after it. Instead do a normal feed 2 days before you go, a water change the day before you go then leave them. Unless you have live plants leave the tank lights off.

If your really really worried you can get automatic feeders relativley cheap but they aren't always reliable and you don't want them to dump all the weeks food into the tank at once as again this will bugger up water quality and it could be days before your back and can do anythign to fix it. Plenty enough time for the fish to develop a disease. Also avoid holiday feeding blocks for the same reason.

Sure all your fish will be just fine for a week. :good:

I think there are now some new gel holiday blocks that are meant to be quite groovey. I'd trial them first before you go and see what you think of them though.

Haven't had need of them myself yet, holidays just don't exist at the moment :( :shout:

never seen or heard of them..... I'd wanna trial them at home doing daily water tests before I trusted them though.

yeah I know the feeling
