just curious. Thinking of some tank mates who wont nip at him. right now hes in there with 3 cories. a pleco and neon tetras. I think my betta really likes the cories!

Both species are considered anabantoids. Since they are aggressive towards their kind they are not to be with each other. Hopefully this is better then just "no".

EDIT: I didn't excplain t as well as a second thought. Gouramis can be with each other but bettas are...well...jerks to other fish deff to other anabantoids.

bettas and gouramis are a no together. they are from the same aggressive family (anabantoids) and would be likely to fight. Be sure to keep an eye on your tetras, too, as they can be nippy towards bettas, and in the opposite direction, some bettas take offense to them and will attack and kill.

You can get more information in the bettas section. If you are interested in gouramis, check out the anabantoids forum :good:
