Wooo hooo. we have action going on in tanks.

Fish in Cycle we have Nitrite

Fishless Cycle We are cycled. Was having problms with Ammonia Converting. Never had Nitrite But had Nitrate. Left tank for a few days then done a test No ammonia so added more at 9am Weds And 11pm weds night No ammonia again. Again added 4.0 Ammonia and on thurdsay No Ammonia.

Added a few fish last night.

So fishless tank cycled, not sure why i had no reading of Nitrite. I had one reading of nitrie 2 days into cycle of 0.25 then it never showed again.

Cycle has taken 2 weeks to complete. will keep a eye on tank readings tho seems to say its cycled.

Just waiting on fish in cycle to complete now. Have been cycling for 2 months and now i have my first readings of Nitrite

Just done another water test in fishless. Ammonia still 0 Nitrite 0, Nitrate 20.

Fish in cycle Ammonia 0.50 Nitrite 0.50 Nitrate 5

How long do you think fish in cycle will have left with these readings? Any idea's

There are so many variables with a fish-in cycle Zoe, it's just a case of waiting until that momentus day when ammonia and nitrite are both 0. Sorry.

Well done on the fishless cycle. Sounds like you've nailed it.

surprised u never heard me lol. Oh and went to new aquatics in Macmerry its massive, Phil says he opening on 26th or 27th. i stole some bogwood from him, he was'nt there first time i went and found 2 small peices on the ground next to wheelie bin lol. look nice in my tank

my fish in cycle took 7 weeks. i guess when you have 0 ammonia and a little nitrite, you are getting close to the end. so be on the look out for that. Good luck

Hi i have 0.24 ammonia and 0.25 No2

ammonia dropped from 1.0 in last 2 days. Gonna do a water test shortly and see what the score is today. have used a whole api ammonia test bottles in 2 months lol. bought extra for my master kit.
