Will This Support My Tank?

I wouldn't use it, the quality is questionable if the online pic has a crooked door. No telling what else might be out of square.

or you could use metric and go with 1L = 1 Kg and that structure looks like it would suppot the tank tvs are hevire than you think. I have somthing at the end of my bed that is just an upside down u with a flat top and a suppoting strut underneth and that supports my weight and the tank i have now.

It's going to be a 15 Gallon tank, it doesn't matter now anyway, i'm getting the steel stand with it, i'd rather do that than risk something else, it also has a nice gap at the bottom for storage.

Are you sure the stand will be big enough? A 15 gallon against your I guess it is a 24 gallon tank is pretty bigger. I don't think if it supposed to fit a 15 gallon tank it won't be long enough for a 24 gallon.

Right, everyone has lost me. If you will listen, I am getting the steel stand my brother had built for his tank many moons ago, and i'm getting his tank, which has been on that stand for years, it's the same size as the tank, maybe even a bit bigger. I'm getting it for free, it's just I was going to replace most of the things in my bedroom and buy a 2ft one to go on that weetabix wood thing, but my brother said I can have his when he moves house and buys a bigger tank!

Neal,

What is the base/feet of the stand like. If they are just the end of a square section bar (inch or so square) then all the wieght will be divided between 4 (or 6?) and will impart very high force on a small area of floor (would you prefer the heel of a 16 stone man in doc. martins of the stiletto heel or a 10 stone woman on your foot?). If the stand is similar to those used in a lfs then remember their floor is often concrete, were as you bedroom floor may be chipboard or at best softwood T&G.

You may need to fit footplates to spread the load over a greater area, make sure it's level and doesn't twist under load.
