I wouldn't put anything but aquatic plants in my tank. I made the mistake of buying plants from PetsMart that were not aquatic plants, and they just eventually rot. I've heard that some non-aquatic plants can be kept in an aquarium, but you need to take them out into the air every once in awhile to let them grow in their natural environment. Never tried it though. It's much better to just get aquatic plants, IMO.
