I've been waiting for a week for these guys to arrive and I found them on my desk this afternoon when I got back from a meeting. My first pairs of wild type bettas. I got a pair of B. burdigala and a pair of B. falx (bubblenester, mouthbrooder, respectively), from Yohan Fernando. I am just so excited to get started working with wilds!!

Since I literally just opened the box, I dont' have pictures of my own yet, but here are two I pulled off the IBC-SMP page species profiles:

I'll try to get some pictures of my own after they have had a chance to settle in and calm down a bit. I'm so excited, I'm even leaving work a bit early so I can get them home and into their tanks. :D

And now the burdigala (the female was a bit camera shy):

Thanks for the comments everyone. I can't wait to try spawning them. Will have to wait a bit though, the falx are still wittle juvies.

Orky, I got them via a breeder in the IBC's SMP program (if you go to the IBC webpage you'll find a link to the SMP-Species Maintenance Program webpage, and you'll find species profiles as well as some possible breeders to contact).
