I had to do something today, as I believe both my apistos are male unfortunately, so I got 2 things of wholed white rock to set across the tank. Well, all the pieces outside tanks were too big, so I got 2 from in.

He took em out, shook em, put em on the scale and weighed em, and put em in a bag, and I took them home.
20 mins later, I set up my new lighting for my 2.5 gallon, and take the rock out for the 10. Guess who stares up at me....

A red tailed blue loach
Suprisingly uncrushed, and suprisingly alive.

He's already in the 38 schooling with my emerald cories, good to say....

amazing though.

I got a little extra from my LFS today to...I bought for $19 a largish bristlenose after my spiny eel did a houdini and escaped from the tank....even though the tank was covered but anyway....I took the bag didn't look at it till I got home and...the women had netted a clump of Java Moss...and didn't notice or care yay...so now I can grow some moss :D

It generally depends on which red tailed blue botia it is.
There are 3 commonly seen... one which gets 7 inches, one 8, and one 5-6.
A trip back there may reveal what it is, but their freshwater is poorly labled :S

God job on the java, but did you find the body quo?

Sigh. Just to let you know, this story ended sadly....

So yesterday I took the same white hole rock out of the tank when I got some new khuli loaches (who aren't doing so hot. just did a 50% water change)

Well... I shook the white hole rock out and set it on the BBQ outside.

Today, I sat on the porch calming my outdoor dog a bit, petting her, as it's raining, and looked down.

There's mr. Red tailed blue botia.

you'd think he'd learn not to stay in that rock after the first time when it leaves the water
