I noticed 3 of my skunk cories have developed whitespot  ,i have just treated the tank with interpet anti whitespot treatment...do i need to turn the temperature up also?

The current temp is 25 degrees, which has been dropping to 23.8 overnight due the freezing weather, because i have a lot of cories and their temp max's out at 26 degrees i'm concerned that upping it may cause them distress.

Tank is 55 gals running with 2 external filters, recent additions 2 days ago is probably the culprits of 6 ember tetras,3 pygmys & a platy.
Other stock in there is 10 harleys,3 guppies,2 platys,12 trilineatus corys,9 pygmys & 6 skunk cories.

Thanks.

Are you sure its whitespot as corys are not prone to it.
How big are the spots.
Any redness to the spots.

The temp fine. If it dropped by more than two degree's in the cold weather it would be wise to raise temp abit to compensate.

On the skunks, more noticeable on the black stripes they had tiny white spots,i double checked this by getting a magnifying glass out and they were definately there.

no redness to the spots that i could tell...

I noticed a few days before a few of the skunks & pygmys had been flicking on the sand,

Could stress cause this? the same day i had been messing with the tank catching 6 livebearers, and all the fish were scooting around,i might have stressed them out.

The spots appeared to have gone on the skunks now,but one of the pygmys was still flicking last night...

Ok.
If you suspect whitespot get treating.
make sure you can use the full dose of whitespot med, as sometimes you have to half dose with corys.

Have you added any live plants or new fish to the tank.

I started treating the tank 2 nights ago with interpet anti whitespot,

The new fish added were 6 ember tetras,3 pygmys and a platy and i noticed the white spots that evening.

Sounds like the new fish fetched the whitespot into the tank.
Did you add the lfs bag water.

I didn't add the water from lfs intentionally,i used a floating acclimation trap which you add the fish with the lfs water, then slowly the water from the tank seeps into the trap, but i removed the fish before it sank down.
But the water drains partly into the tank has its removed.

So it may have had some of the lfs water go in there...

Ok.
Let me know how you get on if you don't mind.
Good Luck.

They seem to be a lot better thanks,no visible spots now,i done the second dose to be on the safe side :)

That's good news.
