Has anyone else ever had this white fluffy stuff on the walls of their aquarium. I have checked everywhere and a number of people seem to have it or have had it but they dont no exactly what it is or how to get rid of it. I clean the glass everyday, i vacuum the bottom, i do a water change every week and the fish are happy. But everyday the stuff seems to be back, does anyone no what causes it or how to get rid of it for good. I found a u tube video that shows exactly what im having a problem with. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAj3xyrtfq0
I would be so grateful if anyone can help. thank you.

It could be Daphnia, looking at it close, looks like they are moving, it should go if you keep cleaning it off, have you any loach in the tank, that should get rid of them........see what others think

Daphnia don't look like white fluffy stuff stuck to the walls, they look like small specks animated by stop-motion. It's easy to tell they are critters. That stuff is something else.

Thanks people i will keep cleaning the glass everyday and hope it goes away. It moves with the motion of the aeration of the filter, turn it off and it stops moving, i will keep looking online to see if anyone else has the problem. Havent any loaches in my tank as i have apple snails and a few other fancy snails but none of them will touch the white stuff not even the oto.

I had a problem with this. It's plant life of some kind and depends on light, scrub your glass and kill the lights for a few days. :good: Daphnia would've been eaten by the fish and wouldn't stick to the glass and Planaria is a type of flat worm I believe. It kinda looks like Hydra but the tendrils that come off look kinda like fern leaves. No idea what it is, though.

EDIT: and a big water change to get a lot of the spores out of the water during having the lights off.
