White Spots Or Ich How To Tell

i have 6 orange tetras and 5 black skirted tetras.
the black skirted tetras have little white spots on there tails.
is this ich or white spots?
I have been treating them with the ich medicine for 5 days
and see no results. How long should I use the meds for.
Or should i be treating them for fungus?
should I clean the tank out now or put the filter back in.

Did you take the whole filter out of the tank or just the carbon?

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Whitespot looks like the fish has been sprinkled in salt. Or the spots will be the size of a grain of salt.

Have you raised temp to 30.
Have you increased aeration.
Are you using the full dose.
Why have you removed the filter.
You treat another week once spots have gone.
