White Residue On The Inside Of The Tank

for a few weeks now we've had a white residue build up on things inside the tank. first it started on the heater, then in the air pump tube now its all over the glass. it comes off easily but im concerned about what it is. ive lost a blue ram today and i am starting to wonder if this is behind it. i also did a water change today and since then the glass is covered in the stuff. the water stats are all within normal range. the bucket i use is only used for the tank and never has detergents etc near it and there has been no change in the water i use either.

any ideas? btw everything is underwater so its not lime etc left behind when the water evaporates

i would but ive cleaned it all off now and its not come back yet lol. i spoke to one of the guys at maidenhead and they had it on their tanks too he said it was normal and not harmful just a phase the tanks go through sometimes and it goes away on its own
