Hi, don't know if this is an actual emergency as such but I am very concerned.
I ecently stripped down my small tank as after a water change the water went very cloudy, there was also small jelly like blobs in the water, I did another 50% water change but to no avail, within a very short period of time the 3 nerite snails in there died
I removed the Multis from the tankl and drained it. On the top of the glass was a white soapy substance, I usually use 2 red basins I have but for some unbeknown reason I used one of the white ones (?) Don't know what was in it , I usually use them for dirty water coming OUT of the tanks.
Antways I binned all the sand and rocks and gave the piece of Java fern a good rinse, I washed the filter and ran it in my main tank to try to preserve media.
I boiled all the shells last night, I placed them back in the tank today filled with water and switched evrythinh back on , there are the usual gas bubbles with the new water but there is tons of white fluffy stuff and a scum on the surface, sorry for the long explanation, , ,
Any ideas, advice ?  :grr:
