Hello,

first of all, i want to thank you guys for this great forum. i've been reading everything possible in here for the past 3 days and learn SO much.

i just got a 5 gallon aquabrite V tank for my betta who in now in a 0.5 gallon bowl. i figured to do a fishles cycling would be best, so it is what i plan on doing. but, i need a source of those bacteria.

so where can i find something easy to gorw like java fern? it will contain the bacterias i need, right? i plan to follow this method: http://www.aaquaria.com/aquasource/cycle2.shtml i don't have access to old gravel or old filters or anything like that so i guess going by the plants would be the best way.

i have a pet supplies plus, petco and petsmart all at rather far distances from me. do they have good plant? or even plants at all? i heard even bad ones will thrive easily so i don't need to worry.

i also plan on having the little blue gravel at the bottom of the tank, from what i read this should be fine for a java fern as long as i don't dig it all the way into the gravel, but keep it from floting.

and off-topically, i want to get some african dwarf frogs as tankmates later. i heard they're bottom dwellers and will help in the cleanup proces, correct? would it be ok to have 2 of them and my betta? or is that too much for a 5 gallon?

i thank all of you in advance for any help! i'm also a very long time member (4000 posts) on a cell phone forum. so if you guys have any questions or need help with phone, don't hesitate to contact me!
