hi all,

we all love keeping fish, but we dont like spending loads of money we cant really afford.(well i cant) A big part of the expence is the initial cost of the tank, the filter and the decor.

There have been topics on here for where to get filters but ive not seen one for the tanks. When i google fish tanks i dont get any really cheap tanks...

You can always buy second hand but i would like to know if anyone has any good websites that supply cheap tanks. they can be with hood+bass or just the tank, ure input is appreciated :good:

Have you tried our sponsor Windsor Aquatics?

I saw a 55 gal for $20. at Goodwill but had husbands car which was too small. When I went back with my wagon it was gone. Darn it I could have put it in the shed and he'd never have seen it.

There's a lesson to be learned there, madmom- never drive your husbands small car incase something like that happens again!! i'd have been devastated missing a bargain like that :shout:

I don't know how common this is in Britain but over here on any given weekend people have lawn sales or garage sales. They put out all of the junk they no longer want in the hope that someone will stop by and buy it. (The reality is that these things eventually end up in other peoples lawn sales :D ) These are a great place to pick up used tanks for next to nothing.

Yea it is a car boot sale,

I have found a record 60 at a bootsale for 5 pounds one time, all it didnt have was the pump and media with it,but had the internal filter box, had the lighting, lid, except a stand.

still a dam good bargain

You're right leafybones from now on he drives his own car. I also check out the yard and garage sales and online freecycle fro my area. You never know what they will offer for free on the freecycle and once in a while there are tanks, stands and other things aquarium.

i find car boots are the best, but i find if you dont get there early enough they have already been brought :/

so car boot sales are where you can get the really good deals. but im lazy and i dont kno where they have them, also i dont have a car-ive got a licence but my car just broke and im not sure if i want another. insurance is so expensive :/

ill definetly look on ebay and check out the sites suggested also the local papers and loot have sometimes got a good deal so there are options :)

well if you can get to a car boot in the near future there should be many advertised in your local paper.
some of the car boots i go to are just minutes away from my house and i never knew they were there befor i found out in the news paper
