Where Can I Buy......

I want to add another tube to my 6x2x2 tank but id rather not have to flick 2 switches to do that.

already have 5 lights to turn on as it is and i mite add another to my 5ft tank aswell so ill be at it all morning turning them on.


can you not get a starter unit that can take 2 bulbs?

anyone got a link to a shop in the UK if you can get them?

There's plenty if you look around:

So there should be plenty available if you do some searching. I got mine either from Watford Aquarium (website not working) as they do industrial T5 ballasts at a fraction of the price of aquarium ones (though some installation is required) or esle Ebay.

found a dual FW one this morning tho.

still a bit confused tho.


it says its the normal arcadia light starter (just the dual version) but then it says its 1" 26mm (T8).

and on the page where they sell the light tubes it says All tubes are 25mm (1 inch) in diameter.


is the 1mm a typo or does it not matter?

It doesn't matter. It's a conversion.

The T rating is how wide the tube is in 8ths of an inch. T8 is 1", T5 is 5/8 of an inch, T12 is 1.5" etc.

Sam on the switching on and off side why not get a timer plugged into the wall then plug an extention lead into that then all your lighting into the extension lead then you wont need to ever switch anything.
