I currently have 5 guppies and 3 bristlenose plecs in my 50L quarantine tank and they have now been in there for 10 days. This tank is quite established as it has been going for over 6 months now. I recently moved my 6 zebra danios into my new 130L cycled tank and they have been in there for a week now with no problems.

The question i have is when i should put the fish from my Q tank into the main tank. I know bristlenose plecs like mature tanks - but would it be ok to move just 1 over (who is getting picked on the the larger 2) and then move the guppies are they have given birth??

Generally, 20 days is an ideal time for fish to stay in a quarantine tank. But I think it would be alright for you to move them now. (Just make sure you get other people opinions first) After you've used it as a quarantine tank, you could then use it as a breeding tank, moving pregnant guppies as they become pregnant. But thats only if you intend not to use it as a quarantine tank for a little while.

Good Luck! :good:

Put the bristles in last, give the tank a chance to adjust to the guppys extra waste and after a couple of days then add the bristles.

I would put the guppys in tonight and then another week later put the plecs in.

Thanks for the advice guys. I was planning on moving one bristlenose first and maybe the guppies. The 130L has only been going for 2 weeks now (excluding the cycling time) - is this too short to put the plecs in?
