Whats The Best Type Of Food For Bluegills

In the wild bluegills feed mostly on insects, crayfish, fish eggs, snails, minnows, worms and crustaceans, so I'd say they'll eat just about anything.

Flakes would be pretty messy, so I'd go with pellets, any standard staple pellet should work.

Also supplement with live or frozen brine shrimp and blood worms when young, for adults you could feed cut up shrimp, silversides, cut up earthworms, etc in addition to the pellets.

Since it's never found in nature, I'd avoid beefheart.
