need help again, could someone advise me what would be the best filter for a tropical tank thats 4ft 8in long
2ft deep and only 1ft width.. at the moment i have a fluval 4+ at on end running at mininum power ,and at the other end
a old fluval filter 2,running on full power. i,m thinking of upgrading, plus its a new tank.

hmmm the tank is 264 litres so I would go for an external

either the fluval 305 [will do up to 300L] or even better still the 405 which will do 400L the more filtration the better!

what will you be keeping?

and where are you from? [just so i can find links]

here is a link to teh 405 Filter

that filter will be great for a general community =]

I would avoid a Fluval 03/04/05 filter, it is guaranteed to fail just outside the warranty, on a 300 litre you're going to need a filter that can kick out 3000 LPH which is rare, so either an FX5 or 2* tetratec ex1200's would do it, I know the two TT's wouldn't quite meet 3000 LPH, but it should be okay, if you have any problems you can always add a powerhead.

Obviously depending on stocking I would go for one that does around 6x turnover per hour as a standard. Of course the more times over per hour the better but you don't want ridiculous amounts of current (well, you might do, but not likely).
