Hello all, I am new to this forum as I have been through many like this. I have a 35 gallon tank ready for use but I am looking for ideas of what to put into it. I am not looking for something costly or hard to maintain, I just want to create a nice environment that wont damage my wallet or time budget. I have experience in maintaing African Cichlids and freshwater fish, but as of right now I want this tank to be strictly tropical freshwater. Any ideas of what to put in this tank? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks

maybe some tetras and cory's there fairly active fish, and some tetras are pretty hardy, not sure on the cory's though  maybe a few livebearers too

Well hello and :hi: firstly! :fish: :fish:

There are many different fish and community types that you could have. There are danio's, tetra's, swordtails, platys there are also corydora's that you could add to be bottom feeders or African Dwarf Frogs. There are also mollies, but those are more brackish like. You have a pretty nice sized tank so you have some room to get schooling grops in there. Well best of luck with your decision of what to add

What do you want the tank for?

Ill explain, i have 4 tanks in the house, a Puffer tank, 2 x community's and a snail/Betta tank. The Puffer is mine, the community are for the family. So decide what you want the tanks for then start looking at fish :)

hey guys, thanks for the reply. the schooling idea is a good one. i forgot to mention earlier that my tank is a tall hexagon shape so that probably limits me more. i was interested in keeping some silver sharks but this tank shape would probably limit me to these guys? im not sure though. Keeg the suggestions coming :D

Silver (Bala) Sharks in a 35 tall probably isnt something id suggest at all

by silver shark i am guessing you mean bala sharks, well sadly they grow to 13" and prefer to be in shoals so none of them for you, i think with you saying the tank is tall they maybe room for angel fish

yea the bala shark is definetly ruled out, however i could throw a red tail shark in there. im not certain i would want angel fish yet, ive kept them before successfully but i think i want a more lively tank this time around, something with a little more action, not sure yet though everything is up in the air :)
