I currently have 4 platys, 4 guppies, 2 angelfish and 6 neon tetras. Someone has said they want to buy me some more fish for xmas but i dont know what to get. My nitrate, nitrite and ammonia levels are all 0 and have stayed that way. I eventually want to add some discus but my tap water Ph is 8.0 so I am going to start doing my water changes with RO water to bring it down a bit. What could i add in the meantime that will go with what i've got now and be ok with the discus in the future? Cheers guys

i would say those guppies and the neons could be lunch for the angels. ur ph is a bit high for those fish it should be around 7 not 8.
same thing if u want to get discus the neons and guppies days will be numbered.

depends what you want to do dude if u want a bunch of small schooling fish, or some larger fish

one thing to remember is do ur research before u buy and remember big fish eat little fish

what small schooling fish could i get that wont be eaten by my angels or some disus? or would some type of guarami be ok with these?

If your nitrates are 0 it can be an indication that the tank has not finished cycling, since nitrates are the end product of the nitrogen cycle and are only present when it is completed (however in heavily planted tanks they may have 0 nitrates since plants absorb nitrates as a form of fertiliser). How long has this tank been set up for? It would be good to continue keeping a close eye on the water quality since things may still change.

I had my other tank running for approx 2 months and then transfered to this tank about 4 weeks ago but transfered all my filter media over with it. I have never really had any nitrates but the amonia and nitrites both went up then dropped off as they should.
