What Is This Fish?

I got this little boy or girl today at the fish store they put him under as a loach that grows to 4" but im unsure

heres a picture sorry if you cant seem him/her very well...

i have ringed the lil fishy.

That's a hillstream loach.

As for which species that picture not clear enough to tell. You might want to take a look at the various hillstream loach species here.

BTW what happened to the lights?

Looks like my sons Disco lamps,
Is that fish sucking onto the glass !!!!!

Certainly a hillstream loach, follow this link and see if any of the loaches shown have similar markings for exact ID, also has some good info on their care (whoever the author was sounds highly intelligent )

yes at the minute theres 3 spot lights but im hopefully get a tube light tomorrow hopefully a 12" one will fit in the hood properly, i have a weird tank shape...

so im taking the hood down tomorrow to hopefully get it fitted there and then so i have no problems doing so myself.

reason for the spot lights, i was firstly going to have crabs but changed my mind...
as soon as new light is fit in, i will take more pics and start my own lil aquarium picture post/updates so look out for it!

I agree with everyone else. Hillstream Loach. They're very sensitive... I had one once.

yeah i'll be upgrading the tank, a more powerful filter better lighting and also a air pump and a ruin decoration for him to hide in when needed.

What is it?
Excellent fish, once settled their behaviour is stunning to observe....

hard to tell with poor lighting, once the new light is in I'll be able to see his patterns etc and take a picture for you lot.

just had a quick look and i'd say a Beaufortia Kweichowensis or a Sewellia lineolata. but will put pic up with new lighting hopefully tomorrow
