hi iv gt a 13/14 GAL tank with 5 Bumble bee gobies in it 3 baloon mollies and a shrimp (i am totaly oblivious to
where he hides and i only see him like once every 2/3 days lol).
ANYWAY i was wondering im going to my LFS tomorrow and i want to know what nice fish i could get.
nice nice fish!!! something which are not agressive or teritorial in anyway. i like the look of silver dollers.
o yeh and one more thing i dont want to know about any fish in the live bearers catagory i got 2 baloon
mollies a few days ago and 1 day later they had 13 babies (which i have in my breeding trap and are growing constantly)
i have sand substrate no plants it is now freshwater and these 3 corie looking rocks what neutralise
the PH to 8.2.
plz help plz plz.

could i have oscars. i know this would sound stupid with the BBg's but will the oscars eat them.
also if i can get oscars what do i feed them.
could i put plants in with them or will they eat them

Oscars wouldnt be a good idea, ive got 2 myself, and as soon as they get big enough theyll eat anything that they can, including the shrimp. If they grew slow then it would be ok but Oscars grow fast, so i wouldnt exactly reccomend you putting an oscar in there, in about a month depending on the size of your other fish theyll eat them most likely.

They eat pellets, and other sinking food, they eat the food i give for my corys (bottom feeders), but i think they prefer the pellets, aswell as live food, i feed them Gold fish, and ive had em for about a month and 7 days, give you abit of a timeframe to when theyll eat small gold fish.

And plants im not sure, i dont think anything in your tank will, asides from the shrimp maybe.


If you are gonna go Oscars i think theyll do ok in there for a few weeks but then you gotta get em out fast, since they ate all the shrimp i had, and tried to eat my Bala shark which i then put into my tank from my brothers where the oscars are.

well i wont be getting them then what about a discuss iv always liked them.
but they are rather expensive £12 and what happens if they die that is just a waste
so im not too sure on them either.
i realy need some help.
i want a realy nice colourful unusual fish.
can any1 help plz

I guess ask to see corys, get atleast 3, there really nice catfish and come in all sorts of colors and patterns i have about 6.

OH one thing, your PH level looks to be abit high, im not sure what your fish prefer but it should be at about 7.0 to 7.5, just a heads up so you dont kill any new fish

Do a couple of 20% water changes, should fix it up.

An oscar needs around 75 gallons so your tank is a bit too small, they grow to over a foot in length.
Discus also grow quite large and are very sensitive to water quality so I would not reccomend you get them.

Is the tank in your signature the tank you are talking about? If so then you need to be getting BRACKISH fish, not freshwater fish, as the tank is brackish....

no its not it has the same fish in it but its freshwater now, like some one said before i had been
doing 20-30% water changes like twice every week.
grrrrr im a bit dissapointed i cant get a disscuss now grrrr
o well. ive had cory and i agree with you they are very nice i had some albino ones.
what about silver dollars.

no the fish you have in the tank are brackish fish.


you need to be looking at small fish under 3".


silver dollars grow to the size of a large saucer and need to be in a group of 6.

my dad said enquire about a pimodella cat. will they be ok with everything in my tank.

I'm sorry to say that on the fish side you are already on your limit.
the balloon mollies will soon give birth, giving you loads of babies.

pimlodeus pictus are a schooling fish that are extreamly active (especially at feeding time)
and require a much larger tank than you have.
