What Have You Found In Your Canister Filter?

I've been reading several posts lately of people finding fry or adult fish in their canister filters, which I think is pretty awesome and interesting. Anybody find anything unusual or strange living in their canister filter? Got any pictures?

I don't have pictures, but in all of my canisters I have hundreds of wild snails crusing around. Maybe thousands. Guess it's a bit of "post processing" of the stuff getting sucked into the filter. Other than that and fry, a few plants and not much else.

Have found various fry one endler grew to almost adulthood before I found him, he was just getting his adult colours. I also found a couple of baby shrimp in a small hob filter they were actually bigger than the ones in the tank, (the intake was covered with a sponge but it was not fine enough and they crawled through I guess)nmust be lots of food in there. There are also lots of hog lice and snails living in the filter, I leave them there they dont do any harm.

I was once cleaning out my filter box, and seen stuff moving, so I looked closer......Worms, was really gross.

I hatched a heap of apple snails. There are i think 2 still living inside. I cant get them out! Will have to see wat happens as they grow. There is only 2 small gaps where they can get out

Bought a second hand juwel tank with filter. Collected it with a small amount of gravel and water still in it [like 1/2"] This tank had been running up until I collected it. Set it up straight away with extra mature gravel and water and to keep mature filter etc. 2 days later I had fish delivered, ready to add them, when I noticed movement in one side of the filter box - it was a fish. Managed to get it out and found it was a zebra danio. Put it in my community tank and rang the guy I bought it from. He said it had disappeared a few days before and assumed it had died and got eaten!

Poor thing had been in like that 1/2" water for quite a while. Was very lucky I did set it up straight away I think, and that I did notice it.
