I want to vote but cant because I cant pick a favourite without having tried them all. I've only had Fluval and Tetratec (is that the one you mean?) out of that list, so would be a bit daft picking a "favourite".

Out of those two, it'd be the Tetratec for cost and coming with all the media - and being damn good for that price too, and the Fluval for being able to cope with my big tank full of plecs. So I cant even pick a fave out of those lol.

I can't pick a favourite because I've only ever had a Fluval 405 cannister filter - all others have been internals, so I'm going for Fluval.

Woah, I knew lots of people liked eheim's because they are reliable but 16 votes? And only 2 for fluval?

Maybe I'll get a eheim classic 2213 to work along side my fluval 305 on my 50gal, when it's set up...kinda over filtered but meh..
I chose fluval because I've always used fluval internal filters and I've found them to be much better than anything else, and extremely reliable.
And I've seen fluval externals and the lfs I work at uses the old 04 models sometimes, they always run quiet and there's never been any problems whit them when I've been there...

Well, I already have a 305, and I think it's a great filter...

I love my eheim, it has never let me down, even though cleaning is sparodic at best.
