My fish had their "starve day" yesterday and today i fed them live glass worm. The woman in my LFS said it was fine to feed to any fish. I have never fed glass worm before. This evening my angels and dwarf gourami look slightly bloated and my rams, kribs and cockatoos all have clear poop.

I will feed peas tomorrow morning but was just wondering if this could be the glass worm that caused it??

Thanks!

I'm not sure about the clear poo part. But live glass worms should be fine if you got them at the fish store. Its just that they are so tasty the fish will gorge themselves. A little bloat from food hasn't done harm to my angles. They should be fine. How much did u feed them? they probably just had a little too much ^^. make sure they are pooping or you might have to feed them peas. If they are pooping, then don't worry and don't bother w/ peas. However, if the bloat doesn't go away after a day or so..or get worse u might have to get some meds as it might be parasites. As far as i know, clear poo is when they didn't have enough to eat. So it just might be from the starving period...and then angles ate most of the worms. I really don't think glass worms causes clear poop..but I'm not sure.

Clear poo is a sign of constipation. However, if you fed them glass worms today and their poo is clear, I don't think it was the glass worms that did it. It takes a day or two for food to pass through fish. Maybe they've just eaten too much of their other food. Peas should clear it up though. :)

Ah, thanks for pointing that out, my mistake. Yeah clear poop is sometimes a sign of constipation. (are there bubbles in the poop strand? if there are it is def constipation....but if it is really long thin clear poop there might be some bacteria problem. Lay off the worms a bit and see what happens.

Thanks, I think you guys are right that maybe it's the starve day and their food hasn't yet digested causing the clear poop but think i'll just feed peas today to be safe. The angels' bloat has gone so guess it was just a case of eyes bigger than stomach!

Thanks :good:
