Weird weird fish . .

Before i start this is what i have in my 20 gallon tank:

~3 head and tail light tetra
~4 pristella tetra
~3 gold tetra
~5 plastic plants
~2 rock decorations
~1 elite 801 air pump
~1 air rock
~1 inch of gravel
~1 penguin mini filter

ok here i go again with a super long entry . .


1. my fish go up and down the sides of the tank after i give them the medication for ich and eye cloud. what could this be?

2. some of my fish like to ride the air bubbles coming from the air stone. is this fun for them, a disease or are they just being dumb?

3. is the air pump too much for the tank?

4. should i still add cycle to the tank like it says to weekly?

my fish go up and down anyway so i dunno.......and they like the bubbles 2 i think they have fun with them and i know nothing about cycle except i've heard different opinions of it also my air pump was 2 much 4 my tank. it powered so much air thru the stone that it made a lot of noise! i got an air curtain and it's super nice and the fish like going behind it!

Why are you giving them meds for this?

It's much fun for most fish and normal. They like to play also.

3. is the air pump too much for the tank?

What airpump do you have in your 20g? If the fish are playing in it then I can be pretty sure that it's not too much pressure. Usually if there's too much pressure they will hide from the current.

4. should i still add cycle to the tank like it says to weekly?

How long has this tank been set up with a full load? I don't think cycle works, but there are others that say otherwise.

Becuz thats wat they have and i have to treat both mild cases of it . . .caught it early

yes...well said smb but like mermaid-girl said I don't think you read the quote clearly he said hes treating ich...to answer the question I found that my fish also did the same after I give them medication It is probably because the medication eats up their oxygen so there is less. Therefore the fish try and breath around the tank. My cory cats were breathing from the surface when I gave medication.
