Weird Little Worms Swimming In New Tank Setup

I have a new tank that I setup ( 55g ), cycled it to get ready to move some fish around. Before any fish have even gone into it, I have noticed little white worms swimming around!     What are they and how did they get in there?!?!

They are almost microscopic. I almost didn't see them until I started looking everything over in the tank and was like...wth is that. They look like they are white.

Google "detritus" worm.  Might that be them?

Also, how did you cycle the tank?

I cycled the tank using the add and wait method with some slightly used media

I do believe that is what they are. Now the question is, how did they get in there?!
