Hi! I have a Juwel Vision 180 tank which has been running for a while now and is stocked with fish.

My problem is that the temperature has reached over 27(which is around 80 degrees F) I have the heater set at 75 degrees F.

Is my water too warm and if so how do I get it down to the right temp. I currently don't have the light on and it's still at the same temp which is too warm really.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks :good:

I have a Juwel Vision 260 and I cannot get my temp below 26 or 27 (when lights are on) no matter what I do with my heater (its one of those with no numbers on). It has not affected my fish at all.

I think that the only way I could sort this out is to buy a new heater, however I figure with the fish seemingly happy if it aint broke dont fix it. I suppose it really depends what fish you have and how intolerent of high temps they are.

Run a fan over the tank water. Adgitation helps lower tempature, adjust the spray bar on the filter to help adgitation.

What's your room temperature? If lower than your tank temp then the thermostat could be on it's way out. I replaced mine when this happened to me.

probably find its the summer heat doing it..Open the feeding doors on the top..drop a few ice cubes in there too. At least ur leccy bill will be lower due to the heater not being used at all

Do a water change with cold water, that will take the temp down.

Unplug the heater. If the temp dosen't drop, then you know that's not it.

You really don't need a heater in the summer unless you go overboard with the air conditioning.

Thank you everyone for your replys the temp is steady now at 80 and it doesn't seem to be bothering the fish so I am happy!

u should be happy... you keep fish :)
