Water Test Kits

Do you use water test kits? If so, which one do you use (brand, type, etc.)? Price doesn't matter. I'm going to buy one for myself, but don't know which one is best. I would really like one that is easy to read.

You can't go wrong with the API Master Test Kit. It's a bit more complicated than strips, but strips can also be extremely inaccurate.

i dont use one since i now what the readings are of my city water. i do water changes like alteast once a week so no need to stress on nitrates. who noes maybe in the future ill buy one.

Only $30, quite accurate, and dare I say "fun" when you first get started

i use the nutrafin minimaster test kit for £20 ish (a bit less) it does , ph, nitrite, nitrate and ammonia. it seems ok but it is very difficult to tell as the colourcharts are difficult to compare with the sample

I have used other kinds (in chem clases) and it seems that alot of these kits tend to be a little hard to decipher what the levels are. However, after using the API master test kit half a dozen times I feel that I can almost always get an accurate reading. The one exception to this is the Nitrate kit (10-30ppm is hard to figure out) but those are safe levels anyways.

I use API too for my FW and SW, but I take the SW measurements with a pinch of salt as they are always all over the place (same tank, same time two tests. One gave 0ppm the other 160ppm - also, RO water + salt=160ppm? I don't think so!)
