Water Hardness

hello, i have had my tank for about 4 mths,i have a few zebra danios,1 algaea eater,and a few pond snails (whick came in on the plants)the problem i have is all the levels are about right apart from the gh and kh whick i cant seem to get down to a reasonable level,any help will be gratefully received,also i did have a clown loach in the tank but just noticed them that it has died,any idea what would of caused this,

I think you can take your kH and gH down in general with the use of reverse osmosis water - well - just a little bit anway... there are chemicals that do it - but it's a risky proposition... Another thing you can do to take down the gH is peat moss in your filter...
