Hello again

My tank has been setup for 4 days now and the water seems to have gone cloudy..
There is no fish in the tank.
Ive setup many tanks in the past and normaly its cloudy for a few days then gets clear.. Not the opposite, As it was clear when first setup.

Heres a pic, Not sure if it will be much use but i'll add it anyway:

I could be wrong, but as the water has gone cloudy after 4 days, I would say it is probably a bacterial bloom. How are you cycling the tank?

Hi and thanks for your reply.

I have just left it with the filter and heater running, Its at 25*C.
It seemed to go cloudy overnight and dosen't seem to have got anymore/less cloudy in the past 24 hours.

Definantly a bacteria bloom. Mine did it too :) Add some filter start or stress zyme, cleared mine in less than 24 hours. Its purely that you filter bacteria count is probably very very low.

You need some ammonia to kick start the cycle. Leaving it running won't do anything. Neither will the 'bacteria in a bottle' stuff. Please read the cycling threads.

Okay, Thanks for the info.

I've always done it this way and its been fine everytime, I'm taking a trip over to the LFS later this evening to get a water testing kit and some ammonia.

Is it wise to add plants during cycling?

Adding plants wont create any problems - i add everything except for the fish when i cycle mine :good:
