Heya,

As a few of you may know, I've swapped my tank over today. The water was crystal clear this morning, but now it looks as if there's 'smoke' in the water. I put the fish in a few hour ago, and it's just appeared. Could this just be dust residue off of the sand, where they've been digging around (and the loaches have been burying themselves quite regularly).

I have set my in-hood filter to max (1000 litres per hour) and I have temporarily shoved my EX600 (600 litres per hour) backup filter in

Is this normal, and will it clear overnight? Are there any tonics I can buy, like.. would Filter Aid do anything to 'clump' all the particles together? If so, I won't be able to get that until tomorrow morning. Will the fish be OK overnight? They don't seem too bothered about it, but it doesn't look appealing.

If you just changed all the water or made a large water change, it's pretty common. It should clear in a day or so.

This is common and it is probably due to the sand or bacterial bloom. It should clear up pretty fast. I would not add anything on the tank. It may not look appealing but it will clear up.

What are your water parameters?
