hi
just thought id post a warning to you all. ive had a diy type co2 ladder ( made by NUTRAFIN) thingy in my tank for a few months now & never had any problems until today. got up this morning to find one of our gorgeous cardinal tetras & a rummy nose tetra trapped in behind it. i released them & the rummy seems fine but the cardinal who was more squashed in & was still alive but didnt look very good, & to cut a traumatic tale short ive just had to euthanase the cardinal :-( :-( :-(
i feel terrible when a fish gets sick & dies but when it dies cos of something ive put in the tank i feel even WORSE!
the ladder was fixed correctly tight up against the wall and i just couldnt believe even a small tetra could get in there but just shows you.
anyway thats the end of the nutrafin ladder its in the bin i wont be using anything like that again. If any of you have one of these things & have small fish please please be aware that this can happen.
